Can I apply for MS by research in IITs?
It is bit doubtful as IIT Delhi and Madras are the only IITs (in my knowledge, offering MS® course). And their criteria for calling Gate qualified Students is usually stringent. You can try for MS course of IIIT (triple I-T) Hyderabad, that can be a great career booster as well.
Percentile information would be more enlightening..
CAREER ADVICE NEEDED
Hi to all,
My GATE marks is 37.39 and I just missed it by 1.51 marks only because of my silly mistakes otherwise I'd have scored 50+ easily. Now I'm confused about my future, I'd declined the job offer from cognizant (campus placement) as well, so overall I have nothing in my hand.
Please guide me if there are any other exams or any other hope left for me? is it good idea for wait for one more year and if so, suggest me!
Regards.
Hello Mr Sunil
I had a couple of questions which I hope you could clarify
In you experience have GATE organizers entertained re-evaulations?
I have 47.77 (Rank 584/ Score 467) but comparing the answer key to responses gives me 50.33.
I am committed to pursue higher studies and research in any of the quant. biological areaas- bio systems, computational biology/neuroscience, bioinfomartics or mathematical sciences at IISc or IIT Bombay irrespective of the department i am admitted to (biochem, mol. bio, neursocience etc). Do you think I've an outside chance for pursuing any quantitative biology programs at either of this institute?
All the best to one and all. Feel free to share your results and experiences here.

My daughter got AIR 259 in BT and from General Category (Gate score -555). Can you give me some idea about her getting admission in any institution like IIT, IISER/NIT on the basis of the above score. Can she hope to get admission on this score. I am eagerly waiting for a reply from you.

Hello Ronit,
Sorry to know about it....as I keep saying, this is not the end of the road...going ahead focus on JNU CBEE/ CSIR.
In addition, give an attempt to GRE if you have financial back-up.
If there is even a remote chance of getting the offer back from Cogni then contact your Placement cell and do your best to get it. I guess you should definitely try for that atleast.

Hello Rohit,
Whereas I didn't challenge anything, nor do I remember anyone challenging the marks but definitely if there is a clear difference then go ahead and challenge the result.
With the current marks, assuming you have a percentile above 95, IIT Madras could be the place for you.
Trying the Kusuma School of Biosciences in IIT Delhi could also be useful.
