APRIL 17, 2015: University College London surpasses Oxford and Cambridge in research
UCL is today celebrating as government analysis of research at UK universities puts it ahead of traditional heavy weights Oxford and Cambridge.
This accolade brings with it an extra £7.5 million of extra funding annually, on top of the £131 million it already receives.

20 April 2015: UCL and Soas staff tell their universities to divest from fossil fuels
More than 200 staff at two London universities have called on their employers to join the global fossil fuel divestment movement, as a number of UK universities prepare to make decisions on whether to keep their shares in companies that drive climate change.
Two letters signed by academics and staff from University College London and the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London were delivered to the boards of the universities on Monday

22 Apr 2015: Women push for places on UCL engineering course after it dropped need for physics and maths A-level
The number of women taking engineering degrees at a top London university has surged after it dropped the requirement to study physics and maths at A-level.
University College London is believed to be the only university to remove the traditional subjects from its entry criteria for civil engineering courses, and has seen the number of female students almost triple.
It comes as schools, universities and employers across the country are battling to increase the number of women in engineering.
