Given a choice between B.Tech and BSC degree, B.Tech is far better.

Do not expect great career prospects right after B.Tech ( job opportunities and salaries for B.Tech grads are not that good). You would need to appear for GATE and do M.Tech from a good college like the IIT's.

There are research jobs available for in various companies after that. If you would like to go in teaching/college prof. line then completing Phd will be advised as well.

But Biotech is a very upcomming sector. If you can finance your M.Tech in an overseas university then career prospects are a way lot better.
