This year IIT Kanpur IIT Kharagpur and IIT Bombay have released their interview dates and all are clashing i.e. 12th may and 13th may for IIT Kanpur and IIT Bombay and 13th and 14th may for IIT Kharagpur. They are forcing us to choose among the best institutes in the country. A interview in an IIT does not mean that you will get a seat so this decision highly decreases our chances to get admission in IITs inspite of having a rank within 100. i think we should raise our voices against this issue.
interviews for all the top iits IIT kanpur IIT bombay and IIT kharagpur are clashing. what should i do? what can be my best choice or is there anything we as applicants can do in this matter. i mailed the iits but there are not replying in this matter
This is an extremely sad state of affair. IITs need to have some consensus over the dates to ensure that everyone gets ample opportunity to showcase his/her skills at various IITs. It not only leaves students with limited options, but would also eventually lead to a dramatic decrease in admissions.
Everyone can't afford flights to switch swiftly between different states in a single day! It's a sheer disappointment!
in this case they are not even giving us a chance to get to an interview even by flight. i tried to contact IIT kharagpur as their call letters are not out they just gave the tentative dates but they bluntly refused to do anything in this matter
Just a weird baseless thought -
Could it be a very well planned and a coordinated move by these institutes. May be they do not want the same candidate to clear interviews of too many institutes.... after which he/she will join only one institute of his choice .... Now .. to fill these vacant seats again, these institutes would have to conduct multiple rounds of interview or call wait listed candidates. (pain for them too)
They probably want students to make up their mind and appear in the interview of one or two institutes only ..
