Liposuction Process - Avoiding the side effects
#3
Here’s a quick overview about the kinds of liposuction mentioned above.

Wet Liposuction
It is derived from the fluids being injected into the body before the removal of fat. A saline solution is injected into the area of operation where it contains both anesthesia and epinephrine. The former is for numbing the fat area and the latter is to allow the local capillaries to constrict, thereby reducing their size. This is to lessen or prevent blood loss and allows easier removal since fat is being broken down. It also prevents swelling and bruising.

Super Wet Liposuction
This is very similar to wet liposuction, wherein the difference only lies in the amount of anesthesia injected. A smaller amount is given, thus the treatment area is not as numb compared to wet liposuction. Unlike wet liposuction, this type does not cause swelling to the area during the procedure.

Tumescent Liposuction
This type of liposuction involves the injection of a large amount of a very dilute local anesthetic, lidocaine, and the same capillary constrictor, epinephrine. Tumescent means being swollen; this is where the term was derived from since the subcutaneous tissue is to be swollen and firm in this procedure. Large volumes of fat can be suctioned in this treatment.

Ultrasonic Liposuction
This kind of liposuction uses ultrasonic energy wherein it is being converted into heat and vibrations. There are two types, the external and internal. The external uses metal rods and paddles over the skin of the treatment area. The internal ultrasonic liposuction is delivered via a cannula where the heat, vibrations, and tumescent fluid are administered.

Micro Liposuction
This is used for areas where minimal amounts of fat are to be removed, such as the neck, face, and chin. It is a gentler and more precise technique as smaller instruments and tinier incisions are made, plus a local anesthesia.

Power-assisted Liposuction
This procedure utilizes a probe that acts as a medium for a back and forth vibration or oscillation in which it already partially dissolves fat before its removal. It is helpful in areas where there is dense adipose tissue.
