Production of penicillin - Optimal ph - jyoti kashyap - 11-20-2013

What is the optimal ph for production of penicillin?

some books say a neutral ph of around 7 to 7.5 ,but some sat its around 5 to 6.5.

can someone clarify ?

Its between 6.5 and 7.5, outside this results in poor culture performance.
