Recently we can talk about CRISPR-CaS9 technology that gave birth to designer baby concept...or Three parent baby model you can make to avoid mitochondrial mutation. Though you can find many simple models on youtube like just type "Sarcomere working model" on youtube, you will find my model. But if you are biotech nerd and want to do brainstorming and creativity then go for "pathway alteration in microbes" I have done my specialization in same subject so I can guide you. Depending upon your interest go for it.

Sorry for late reply.
For the pathway alteration, first you need to choose any product like primary metabolite (alcohol, citric acid etc.) or secondary metabolite (antibiotics) then you need to understand the conventional pathway for the same. Once you understand the mechanism then you can inhibit the formation of by product, leading to maximum product yield.
