Hello Sunil sir,
I'm a student a IIT KGP M Tech Biotechnology.Few days ago, i heard that the core companies which come here take 2-3 students out of 24.Other companies which come are from IPR,consultancy and IT.
Though i want to go for a core job, what preparations should be done for getting in IPR and IT companies?

Hi Malay,
Core companies indeed prefer taking 2-3 students only. But it all depends upon the pitching team of placement cell as to how many companies can you invite for your department.
Some non core companies are good as well (Delloitte, McKinsey, Bain, Fractal etc can be good consulting firms to go for). Their tests are mainly focussed on Aptitude and Statistics. Some go for Group Discussion as well. Finally it depends upon your Interview.

You can also apply independently at firms like evalueserve and Kynapse.

Hope it helps.
Best wishes
